This kitchen was a remodel, and the homeowner required all appliance connections remain in their original locations, and no new floor plan configuration. The challenge was to create an elegant kitchen from a rather boring rectangular space. This is our result:

All soffits were removed to accommodate rich black cherry castle
top cabinets offset by a contrasting island area. The kitchen has an open sink wall to provide natural lighting.
A small table breaks up the expanse of the island. The 6' island has extremely heavy duty banks of drawers on the
side
near the dishwasher.
Hidden range vents are along the back of the cooktop so no
chimney
hood is required, thereby allowing another cabinet.
Cabinets are extra deep by the refrigerator to present a flush
appearance.
Cabinets are backlit to brighten dark cabinetry; upper cabinets
are hinged at top for easier access.
