After 60 plus years of building throughout the greater Toledo area, we thought it was about time we showcased our work by entering some competitions that recognize expertise in the home remodeling industry. Back in 2007 we entered our first competition, the annual Toledo Home Builders Association Awards, sponsored by its Sales and Marketing Council.

All members of the HBA are eligible to submit any of their remodel projects in many different categories. Ever since that first year we have been steadily honored with several awards each year.

Then in 2008 we entered a prestigious national competition for our HBA bath remodel project, and received word that we were one of four regional winners nationwide. It is the Chrysalis Award sponsored by Qualified Remodeler magazine with judges from Better Homes and Gardens, Southern living, Woman’s Day, and The American Institute of Building Design. We received our award June 11th in Atlanta, and were overwhelmed when we were named the national winner against remodeling firms from the San Diego, Baltimore, and Atlanta areas!

Below is the national Chrysalis Award winning Bath Remodel Project!

This is the remodel project for which we were awarded the HBA 2007 Addition of the Year Award. We tore off the old addition to the right and replaced it with a 2-story addition. It’s hard to believe that the old 1897 brick home is hidden inside. We added three decks, a wraparound porch, and finished the home with all new roofing and vinyl siding.

For this same project we also received an Award of Excellence from the CertainTeed Corp, a manufacturer of interior and exterior building materials. The project, judged among other national entries, was selected for its craftsmanship and overall presentation. Our winning entry featured Wolverine American Legend Clapboard pale ivory vinyl siding.
